Driver Safety Training
Canada is said to have more or less 900,000 kilometers of road. Unfortunately, this long stretch of road is still not enough to prevent road accidents that bring unnecessary tragedies to drivers and passengers. It was reported that more Canadians died in road accidents in the last fifty years than the Canadian casualties during the two World Wars. Among the many hurt and the properties destroyed, it was also said that more or less eight Canadians die every day due to road mishaps. This is why driver safety is a national advocacy in the country.
Road Safety Vision 2010
Primarily because of the alarming statistics on road and vehicle-related accidents, the Canadian government had adopted a plan to make Canadian roads the “world’s safest.” This plan, called the Road Safety Vision 2010, is a long-running joint endeavor between the government and private sectors to create safer roads and vehicle traffic, from the designs of the cars to the policies to be implemented.
Safety training
Beyond the designs that will make the roads or the vehicles safer for use, the safety of the drivers and the passengers still lie primarily on the actions of the driver. Driver safety is really important because it also carries the safety of his or her passengers and those around him or her. As with any safety training, driver safety training will provide the driver with the knowledge and information that he or she needs to learn or at least be aware of in order to be responsible while on the road. Driver safety training, along with devoted compliance with the laws and policies regarding safe driving, are important if the incidences of road accidents in the country are to be reduced.
